NHEAT project findings presented at the Water-Rock Interaction Conference in Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy)

The NHEAT project team was well-represented at the recently concluded Water-Rock Interaction Conference, held in Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy) from 16th to 21st June 2025. During the event, key scientific findings from the NHEAT project were presented in the session on “Carbon Capture and Storage and Hydrogen for Energy Transition,” convened by Chiara Boschi (NHEAT Principal Investigator) and Yousif Kharaka.

Our contribution, titled “Natural Hydrogen Exploration in Italy: Geologic Suitability, Prospects, and Current Challenges” highlighted the NHEAT team’s efforts to identify exploitable hydrogen reservoirs across various geological settings in Italy.

The conference offered an excellent platform for fruitful discussions and the exchange of innovative ideas with the broader scientific community. We look forward to advancing our research and contributing further to the energy transition in Italy and globally.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses!
